I stepped off the plane to the heat and humidity of Mississippi last night. These I have not missed!
Nor have I missed the hurricane threats to me and my loved ones. As I write this, my sister-in-law is evacuating from Corpus Christi and other relatives are still dealing with the effects of Gustav. Just life in these parts.
I am still trying to put my trip into words.

So glad you are HOME!
I've got a person in CC, too (although not as close in heart as your SIL is to you), haven't yet heard what her plans are...
I sure hope they are all taking this one seriously -- not getting a good feeling about it at all.
Can't wait until you wake up and start writing about your trip!
Hope your person in CC is OK and getting out if possible. I don't like the vibes I am getting on this one either.
After a week without it, that humidity has to feel extra oppressive. Take good care of yourself until you acclimate again.
